Gaetano Perrone

In parte architetto, in parte artista, la visione di Gaetano Perrone si realizza nella costruzione di una scarpa. Il suo innegabile talento ha dato prova di sè prima con il prêt-à-porter e, poi, con il consiglio di Antonio Berardi, attraverso il disegno di scarpe. Ora i suoi giorni e le notti, ovvero le sue ore più produttive, sono in gran parte spesi per la progettazione.
Ha studiato presso l’Istituto Europeo di Design, prima a Roma e poi a Milano, con una borsa di studio.
Ha iniziato con le scarpe sperimentando nel 2000 insieme a Berardi, che lo ha introdotto in un mondo di creatività dove non c’erano limiti o confini. Ideando scarpe fatte a mano, è cresciuto con lo scopo di creare la bellezza attraverso questi piccoli oggetti, obiettivo impegnativo data la necessità di bilanciare le proporzioni.
Ha dedicato gli ultimi 15 anni alle calzature e agli articoli in pelle lavorando per molti brand, tra cui Emanuel Ungaro, Sergio Rossi, Kenzo, Iceberg, Gianvito Rossi e Christian Dior.
Nel 2008, è stato chiamato a dirigere il settore calzature di Salvatore Ferragamo . Qui ha imparato come gestire la creazione di una importante collezione portando un po ‘di freschezza e modernità in un prodotto classico.
Tuttavia, i suoi 6 anni da Alexander McQueen sono stati i più impegnativi ma anche gratificanti.
L’esperienza acquisita nel corso degli anni e l’attenzione scrupolosa per i dettagli, gli hanno permesso di creare disegni che sono un dono contemporaneo.

Part architect, part artist, Gaetano Perrone’s vision is realized in the building of a shoe. His undeniable talent was first found making Ready-To-Wear, until Antonio Berardi suggested to try drawing shoes. He did, and quite well. Now his days and nights, some of his most productive hours, are largely spent designing.

He studied at the European Institute of Design, first in Rome and then later in Milan, on scholarship, for his masters.
He started experiencing shoes in 2000 with Berardi, who introduced him into a world of creativity where there were non limits or boundaries. Designing hand made shoes, he grew to learn how to create beauty through this small object, beauty that was challenging given the necessity to balance proportions.
Dedicating the last 15 years to shoes and leather goods he has worked for many labels, including Emanuel Ungaro, Sergio Rossi, Kenzo, Iceberg, Gianvito Rossi and Christian Dior.
In 2008, he was appointed at Salvatore Ferragamo to lead the shoe department. There he learned how to manage the creation of an important collection bringing some freshness and modernity into a classic product.
However, his 6 years at Alexander McQueen have been the most challenging an rewarding.
The experience acquired over the years and the knowledge of attention to details, have enabled him to create designs that are a contemporary gift.
